1. When or where will we practice?
-We will practice at a local park such as the Williamson County Regional Park off 1431/Sam Bass or Vista Ridge High schools outside courts. Practice times would be in the evenings once or twice a week from 6-8pm and possibly some weekend practices (when we don't have games).
The season will start at the beginning of March with conditioning on 1 day and practicing on the second day. Then we will see where we feel we are as a team before deciding if we want to jump into some local tournaments. Then tournament play will start in April and run thru July.
2. Where would we play?
-We will play in local tournaments all over Austin thru the AAU, MAYB, PAC, Rise Up, Competitve Edge and TXBA network of tournaments. We also will play in a couple of local leagues here in the area that range from the PAC in Leander or the Competitive Edge League that plays games in Georgetown or Round Rock school gyms.
3. What would it cost?
-Initially we are looking to keep it around $400-450 per player per season. This would cover the fully customized, reversible uniform package (uniform, backpack, shooting shirt and socks) plus the tournament or league registrations needed for about 8 local tournaments. If we choose to do out of city tournaments such as in San Antonio/Dallas/Corpus Christi, we would take the cost of the tournament (normally around $250 and split it up among the amount of kids doing it). Travel expenses for these types of tournaments is not included in the registration. Each season will last around 3-4 months.
4. What kind of players are we looking for?
-We aim to find players that want to play the game at a high level. We also want players that know what it means to be a good teammate, play with the right attitudes and respect the game. We are committed to helping these boys improve on and off the court, so I would kindly ask for players to commit to the team with pride, show up for practice and give 100% whether it is on the practice court or in the game. This allows them to show up ready to work hard, while knowing their teammates are all on the same page.
